If you find it difficult to drink enough water every day, you can prepare lemon water. Add lemon, lime, or both to water for a refreshing and delicious drink. Lemon or lime water adds an elegant touch to a dinner party and is also a delicious drink you can enjoy throughout the day.
Preparation time: Just under 10 minutes
Ingredients:
2 normal sized lemons or 3 large lemons
2 liters of water This will yield two liters of lemon water
How to Make it:
Prepare lemon water, Chill the serving jug in the freezer. Place a large glass jug in the freezer several hours or up to a day before you plan to make lemon water. This will keep the water cold longer.
If you are putting the water in a plastic jug, there is no need to cool it before use. Chilling the pitcher beforehand will make it feel icy, perfect for soothing guests’ throats on a hot summer day.
You can also place several glasses in the refrigerator so that each of your guests has their own refreshing drink.
Wash and cut the lemon. Wash two lemons or 3 large lemons. Remove any labels from the fruit and place the citrus on a small cutting board. Use a small knife to carefully cut the fruit into thin slices.
You may want to discard the ends of the fruit and any seeds. 3 Squeeze the lemon and put it in the jug.
Gently squeeze the lemon (and lime if you’re using it) until a little juice and essential oil come right into the jug. Don’t press too much until the slices lose their round shape. Then put all the slices in the jug.
Fill the jug with water. If you prefer distilled water, pour two liters of cold, filtered water into the jug. If you prefer sparkling water, pour 1 liter of sparkling water into the jug. Use a long spoon to stir the lemon slices in the water.[2] If you are using sparkling water, you will need to add another liter of it before serving. Image titled Make Lemon or Lime Water.
Cool the lemon water. Place the pitcher of lemon water in the refrigerator. Chilling the water in the re樂威壯 frigerator will enhance the flavor and make the drink more refreshing. Cool the water in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours.
Keep in mind that the flavor of the water will be stronger the longer it cools.
Remove the lemon and serve the lemon water. Remove the lemon slices and filter the lemon water with a strainer if there are seeds. If you want sparkling lemon water, add a liter of carbonated water to the jug. Pour the lemon water into serving cups. Add a few fresh slices of lemon or lime and ice cubes before serving the drink.
Store lemon water in the refrigerator for up to two days. You can add fresh water to the lemon slices after removing them from the jug, but the second batch of lemon water may not be as delicious as the first.
